SCREENINGS

The festival has four main competitive sections: Short Films, Narrative Feature Films, Documentaries and Web Originals. In addition, the festival presents spotlight screenings of studio and network films in advance of their release dates.

CAREERS IN ENTERTAINMENT CENTER

A three-day educational forum to foster career development. Comprised of up to six lectures led by industry experts, it is being established to provide insight into job opportunities that exist within the industry, in front of and behind the camera.

PANEL DISCUSSIONS

A platform for industry insiders to have an open dialogue about contemporary issues around the business and creative aspects of film and television.

ATTRACTIONS

Innovative activations and promotional displays designed to enhance the festival experience.

MASTER CLASSES

Intensive workshops designed to help emerging artists hone the craft of filmmaking in various disciplines, including acting, writing, directing and producing.

THE VR EXPERIENCE

A space dedicated to immersive experiences (virtual reality, headsets, 360° video, etc.) to demonstrate the impact of technological advancements on storytelling.

TALK SERIES

One-on-one interviews with some of the industry’s most successful and influential artists. Past participants have included Spike Lee, Laurence Fishburne, Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson.

ABFF SOCIAL

Hospitality lounges, parties and social events that help facilitate the exchange of information, develop contacts and deal making among festivalgoers.
