UP is the feel-good television network promising to always uplift you and your family. We air premiere movies, scripted series, docu-series and unscripted series that are positive and leave you feeling better than you did before you watched. In just four years, UP and ABFF's unprecedented partnership led to the production and airing of five feature-length films through the UP Faith & Family Screenplay Competition.

Continuing the mission to support diversity in the industry, UP is honored to return to ABFF to introduce its new initiative that...FLIPS THE SCRIPT TO SERIES: REMIXING THE DEVELOPMENT PIPELINE!

UP has experienced tremendous success with the smash hit reality series Bringing Up Bates. With the upcoming production of its first highly anticipated scripted drama, Ties That Bind, it's time to "flip the script" by expanding UP's SCRIPTED and UNSCRIPTED series development.

Family Target, Many Cultures. UP's programming resonates across cultural lines, leaving viewers glad to have spent time with us! Content creators with unique and original series concepts that entertain and uplift are invited to submit ideas encompassing any/all of the following:

• An original, fresh, distinctive and contemporary theme that appeals to a multicultural audience
• Stories with heart and humor that offer life lessons/messages to takeaway
  • Can include stories with a deeper meaning, showcase challenges to overcome and/or are transformational for viewers or characters
• Include characters/talent with character that are authentic and relatable

Three (3) submissions will be selected to receive:

• An in-person meeting at ABFF with UP executives, Amy Winter, EVP & GM and/or Barbara Fisher, SVP, Original Programming, to discuss your submission and provide feedback
• Up to two (2) ABFF Festival Marquee Pass(es)

Submission Requirements

SCRIPTED:

• Signed Submission Guidelines and Release Form
• List of Writing and/or Production Credits with list of all work that has been produced or is scheduled to be produced, in any form, as of the date of submission
• Pilot Synopsis and Series Synopsis (1-2 paragraphs each)
• Series Outline (12 pages or less) or Pilot Script (55 pages or less)
• Optional: Produced Pilot Scene (maximum of 10 minutes) or Sizzle Reel (maximum of 4 minutes)

UNSCRIPTED:

• Signed Submission Guidelines and Release Form
• List of Writing and/or Production Credits with list of all work that has been produced or is scheduled to be produced, in any form, as of the date of submission
• Series Description & Act-by-Act Breakdown (1-2 paragraphs each)
• Casting Overview (Lead and Key Supporting Cast Descriptions)
• Casting tape (between 2-4 minutes in length) that highlights unique characters and storylines
  • Required for Docu-series
  • Optional for Format
